Well that one is easy, it is our commitment, to you our customers and to all things puzzle!
In October 2005 we at Platinum Puzzles opened our doors, but we are not new to puzzles. People would always ask "how did you learn your skill at a cutter or as a designer, it's not like you could go to school to learn that".
Well I did kind of learn it at a school, more to the point I trained and learned my skill on the job at the famous Stave Puzzles in Vermont. I trained for a year to learn to cut the Stave way and I apprenticed under the owner and "chief Tormentor" Steve Richardson on designing puzzles for eight years. My days at Stave were always exciting and fun and jammed pack with learning experiences on how to make a print puzzle challenging for the customer and how to design a tough teaser and trick puzzle all in the traditional Stave way. There were ideas and designs I wanted to try at Stave, but was limited to what management thought was a good idea. I designed over 100 puzzles for Stave when I decided I wanted to try it on my own, so Stave and I parted ways. After waiting for my non compete to end in the Autumn of 2005 Steve and Dee Rogers opened Platinum Puzzles.

We use a mahogany 5 ply puzzle wood that darkens as it ages, the grains are lovely.
We are going to offer our customers a second choice soon as we are going to introduce a cherry puzzle wood.
We strive to bring you the best materials available and keep the price competitive, when you buy from Platinum Puzzles you are not paying a high price for the name. Our prices are some of the best for the quality offered.
We strive to buy American made materials to keep Americans working when we can.
We do every step of the puzzle making process by hand.
When we get the print for your puzzle we mount it to the wood using a heating press.
We spent hours setting up the puzzle with figurals you have custom ordered, and some you have not but we felt would enhance your puzzle.
We then free hand cut your puzzle using a scroll saw.
When we have finished cutting we turn the puzzle over and sand and minwax the back, to bring out the beauty of the wood, we do this twice.
Then we take it apart, count the pieces, write your label, hand fold your tissue and place everything into your tin.

Well you may say that a lot of puzzle companies do that, and you would be correct. Remember back when I said I had all these ideas on puzzle design.
Platinum Puzzles is one of the front runners in new designs our Dee-lightful and Dee-spicable puzzles lead the way
